Lidar's adoption driven by Innoviz and Outsight
Using Innoviz One's high-performance LiDAR technology and Outsight's processing software solution, this partnership allows 3D localization and perception technology to seamlessly integrate into smart infrastructure, vehicles, and industrial applications.
A partnership between Innoviz Technologies and Outsight is a first for one of the world's leading suppliers of solid-state lidar sensors and perception software.

Spatial Intelligence Software, Outsight's real-time edge processing platform and cloud capability platform offer an effective way to integrate 3D lidar data with infrastructure and industrial and vehicle applications.
Outsight's software, combined with Innoviz's lidar products, aims to accelerate and facilitate the adoption of lidar technology beyond the ADAS industry. There are several key application areas proposed, including:
- Infrastructure apps: monitoring of person flow, traffic security, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
- Commercial vehicle and robot applications:Construction equipment, logistics, and service robotics
- Industrial applications: Volume measurement, safety, industrial equipment, and agriculture
Among the features of Innoviz's lidar sensors are their performance and safety, according to the manufacturer:
"They are purpose-built to be rugged, affordable, reliable, power efficient, lightweight, high-performing and seamlessly integrable, and are ideally suited to enable a wide range of non-automotive use-cases that require mature solutions"
Spatial Intelligence Software from Outsight was designed to simplify technology use in projects that require real-time processing (edge processing) and cloud computing. SLAM, object detection, tracking, classifying, and segmenting are included among its essential features.
Solutions that are widely embraced
Outsight's solutions have been widely adopted in dozens of markets in Europe, the United States, Asia, the Middle East, and other regions as part of the LiDAR Coalition, which Innoviz is a part of.
According to Raul Bravo, co-founder and president of Outsight, Lidar is no longer in its infancy. It was at that time that demonstration-level sensor prototypes and research-level algorithms provided enough traction to launch the lidar industry and give birth to its current leaders.
"Non-automotive markets that will deploy lidar at scale require a new level of maturity, with high-performing and reliable hardware like Innoviz’s lidar sensors, combined with scalable and easy to use software solutions like Outsight's"
Omer Keilaf, Co-Founder and CEO of Innoviz, said, “Our award-winning lidar technology is already being used to monitor pedestrian safety in Los Angeles, improve operational efficiency and safety across ports in China, and automate crane systems on construction sites in Japan and more.”
As part of their partnership with Innoviz LiDAR, the partners will demonstrate their collaboration at Innoviz's booth at CES 2023 between January 5 to 8, 2023.
